Biggest issue I ever had with mac is what Mack is finding out...it's a pain in the ### at times to do certain things.

Of course it's not like PCs don't have their issues.

I use a PC mainly because...it's easy to work on and upgrade, and the majority of programs and games are made with a PC in mind. I'd use a Mac if I was doing certain kinds of work...graphics, music, videos, movies, etc etc.

    Like he said.

I'm not part of the battle of mac vs pc. I just use what works for me, and the majority of the stuff I do online. If someone wants to use a mac....more power to them. It's like Ford vs Chevy. I don't care long as it gets me to where I need to be/go.

That said.....I hate iPhones with a passion. They just highly annoy me. Not a fan of the cost or other stuff about them.

Good luck with the new computer!

And all PC programs run on a Mac... now it’s not a “high end” Gaming System, but you can run any PC Program in Bootcamp... or an emulator.

and the flip side to that is that the vast majority of viruses and malicious programs are also made with the PC in mind as well.

and before anyone says “yes but...” macs are not completely risk free but anything targeting MACs are designed to “trick the user” into doing something not just run in the background.

I switched to Apple in 2010 with the purchase of a MBP for my oldest going off to college... now we have six Macs and none, zero, have ever had any kind of “protection software” installed on them... and more importantly, so far, knock on wood, never had any issues.

Try running six PCs over Ten Years without any form of protection, and see what happens. I know my track record on PCs didn’t match.

    but again, opinions vary.

I’m not really either... although I do enjoy the debate... both have Pros and Cons... and I’m very glad PCs are out there and are the dominant platform as it then allows Apple to design and build their Walled Garden For their user base.

Competition and Options are Good for All

Also, Apple is very good with their Support... I have used it from time to time. If you haven’t already, you can call their 800 number and get basic help on many different issues... sometimes not so basic too. I’ve been very impressed with their Support both in Store and on Phone. Worth a try if you are hitting a brick wall on something.

Probably twice that. Even more if it is the Pro 16.

Honestly unless you're a dumb donkey. You should never have to worry about viruses on a Windows PC either.
