Any flagship will be expensive.

 

I go back and forth between IPhone and Android. I always have an IPad though.

 

Getting different ring tones for the IPhone was a pain in the butt though.

 

Yes, when one looks at the Flagship models there isn’t much price difference.

And the iPhone SE models are only $400 so there are good decent “cheaper” models too.

Ive only had two iPhones... bought a 4S in 2011 and replaced it with a 6S Plus in 2015... 4 and 5 years respectively... so yes, they cost a bit up front but when one can amortize it over 5 years, it’s really not so bad... oh and they both got updates each and every year that I had them... in fact my 6S Plus will be getting iOS 14 this Fall... I’d put the public beta on it now but with all the Apple Stores closed for CV19 I don’t want to risk it, yet.

not a bad track record on software updates.

 

I have had an SE and a 6 Plus. Both were great phones. The SE was my previous phone. After awhile it got to be kind of small so when I upgraded I got the Note 10 Plus. I love the Note but a part of me always misses the IPhone.

 

Ya, I would have kept my 4S a bit longer but 2015 was when I started driving so I needed just a bit more screen real estate as that was my only connection to the outside world... so I went for the Plus model... now I have an iPad mini and regular iPad, so I’m thinking of going smaller and cheaper on the iPhone the next time.

The “new” SE they released this past Spring has caught my eye... all the internals of the newest iPhone but no bells and whistles like the fancy camera, etc... thinking it might be my next model but I’m waiting for this Fall to see what the iPhone 12 looks like... but at $400 the SE will be a great option for years.

 

I got my kids the 8 Plus, since they were refurbished wasn’t expensive. I can use my iPad to monitor what they do and also limit their time on it.
