FCC--Fremont Contract Carriers

That was the first thing that came to my mind the first time I drive through Albuquerque... that and hoping to drive through during their balloon festival too.

 

Every Saturday morning right after daybreak you can see the balloons. Not like in May with the ballon fest, but enough to get a wow factor.

 

My first boss out of college had his pilots license for ballooning, and a balloon... it was such fun helping him setup, chase, and pack up... and then refreshments after.

Danville, IL (where we all lived and worked) used to have an annual balloon fest based out of their Municipal Airport... it too was a blast... never been to the Albuquerque Festival but that would be on my Bucket List.

Interesting Fact: (well, for some) Because of the landscape in the Albuquerque area, a balloon can actually fly in vertical circles due to the winds going in different and sometimes opposite directions. While winds do go in different directing at different altitudes in many places, it’s very exaggerated in that area. Thus the balloon fest.

I was sitting on my front porch in Hemet one time and a balloon came past my house and dropped in the golf course. Never seen one that up close before. We went over and the pilot and his passenger were ok. A big bobtail truck showed up a few minutes later and rolled it up and took it away.

 

Ya, another bucket list... I saw LOTS of bikes and packs of bikes all heading west over the last couple weeks... so jealous!!!

 

That's the way I said it in my head when I typed it. Lol

 

You need to get a Albuquerque load in October. The general mills plant is right in the middle of where the launch all the balloons.I was there 2 years ago and got some real amazing pictures that morning.

 

Emptied out in Nagitoches LA and parked for the day. Headed to Houston for a load due Monday anytime in Madison NE.

 

Do you guys run to the Houston area regularly?
