That would be some serious old school cool. Just remember... cool things aren't cheap.. And cheap things aren't cool. Better have deep pockets.

She’s rough and been a parts donor. Not the old “ ran when parked”.

It still has the grill in good shape. It’s safe in the parts loft in the shop.

Badmon, Tug Toy and Coffey Thank this.

You realize if you have a front end collision you have no crush area except yourself? That's a big risk just to look cool. Your life, your money.

    Badmon and bigguns Thank this.

I got to tell ya with the way the new trucks explode into a million pieces and burn to the ground after the cabs break off the frames in a collision makes the old cabovers look safer. Tens of thousands of drivers that ran cabovers got to retire and die of old age and some of them had been in bad wrecks.

I resemble that remark except for the retirement.

Durkin Diesel in Lemitar NM told me that he can fabricate FL cab panels if you need any. Late this year or early next year I’m hauling my cabover to them and I’m just going to write the checks. I’ve had it for nearly a year and haven’t had time to do anything with it and I want the project done before I’m old. I wrote my truck off last year, this year will be my trailer, next year I’ll write off the cabover.

nah I just run a trucking business for the free time and the millions, and rebuild old junk for fun.

keep running that box of recycleables down the road, those of us that still take pride in what we do will help OP out

Here’s one of my favorite cabbies. Fresh paint from the frame down, newer running gear, rat rod cab.
