I have been pre-approved with Central and Stevens and now trying to make a decision between the two. I know from reading all the posts on this site that both companies have there fair share of problems, BUT I have to call the recruiters soon to let them know that I am attending class so they can arrange everything. ANY and ALL advice is welcome!

I would go with Central myself.
Shorter training peorid with trainer so you make money faster. Though if you feel you will really need a longer training peorid then it is your call.
Stevens does have Kenworths for Company drivers.

I'm leaning towards Central also, I have driven with USXpress years ago but didn't renew my CDL license so I gotta go through training again. And you're right, it is shorter and I'm sure I'll get the hang of it once I'm back out there. I do have another question though? from reading posts on here, does Central have enough trucks now or are drivers still waiting? I did ask the recruiter about this and he assured me that they do, but I also know that recruiters will say anything (I did time in the Army) to get you in. Also does anyone know what the drivers are averaging for miles?

If I had to chose between sux and sux-more, I'd go with Central. But hey, if you did USX, you can do any company!!

For drivers starting from scratch, ie, never sat in a truck before, then I think Stevens has better training. BUT, I would go with Central sinse you have done this before and their pay goes up faster.

I just started researching trucking and all I keep reading all over the internet is that there is a big need for truck drivers. But then when you actually communicate with you guys, you get the real story.
It does seem to me that there is a lot of turnover in this profession.

I also was approved from Central to start their training.
They told me that I would have a Utah CDL license and that I could transfer it over to an ohio license...Anyone ever done that?

Why do you think that Stevens has a better training program. Central's is three weeks.

Which company is the best all around for training and then driving for them?
I do not even know who all the companies are that offer their own training.
