Yes they are on the side of the cab. I did the mirror mount with a tram antenna that I use with an old cobra 29. I’ve seen the braided straps on your videos although I’m not sure what they do

They are whats called an rf ground..Different from what the radio uses for a ground..
The ant needs metal to shoot its signal off from so seeing there is not much there you use those straps to connect the trucks metal to make it as one more or less..
The hinges will work off and on but thread locker and the grease n such prevent it from makeing a full time connection, hence the straps..
Be sure that when you extract a hinge bolt you clean the threads..Use a dab of dieletic grease on metal to metal..Keeps corrosion away and keeps the metal to metal connect longer..
Just clued in that you will be useing the factory pwr/gnd wires,i would solder a ringlette on each end and route to fuse box behind dash(passenger side)..
You will have to go through marks vids to find the one where he shows how to upgrade the power and gnd wire..
Ill look tomorrow and see if i can find it..I gotta do my run tonight so i needs a lil nap before i go..DetroitD15 Thanks this. -
Thank you sir! I saw that you used the fuse box power but I thought I heard you say that was temporary. I’m looking up videos on how to solder on YouTube. I’m guessing I’m gonna solder marks coax also that’s gonna come with the radio? also my current set up the coax goes through the door slide but I heard you say the older Cascadia it can go through the firewall?

On the previous bersion which was a 2016 i think..There was a place down by the steering shaft that will go inside out yes..Will that apply to the 14 yr i dont know..
What are you soldering,coax?
If its the factory power wire yeah i would search out his power wire vid 1st..
What i ended up doin was buying the 10ga from bobs cb i think in pa..You have to do some soldering n such but its plug n play after...
What i did in the end(just cause im anal about stuff at time was get a ppwer wire kit..It uses the anderson quick disconnect and is soldered direct to radio..Its ment for a high powered radio..When i get home later from my night run ill look it up....DetroitD15 Thanks this. -
Here is the power wire mod vid i was referring to..
