I found a hell of a deal on an Interstate Mcbee inframe kit for my Cat c15. Has anyone used their kits? The supplier says he sells lots of them but I can’t find any real world reviews or success stories for their inframe kits....

In my opinion, its best to always use OEM parts. You get what you pay for.Diesel Dave, joey8686, gerardo1961 and 1 other person Thank this.

I don't think anything is made the same anymore. I remember when I was a kid we bought a refrigerator it lasted 25 years... Now your lucky if one lasts 7 yearsLast edited: Aug 16, 2020

Long story short, I we tried 2 Detroit kits and a Interstate McBee kits in my engine. The short time I ran it, the McBee kit had less oil usage. On the dyno, zero difference. Detroit actually bought 2 kits, one for my engine and one for them to study. Yes even Detroit tried aftermarket parts in my engine. Later to just give me a long block. I never put more than 30k miles on it. Seems alot of oems could care less about supporting old platforms. My experience with cat is the quality is junk and they could careless.
joey8686 Thanks this. -
If you think OEM Caterpillar is junk, avoid their Yellowmark parts.......jamespmack Thanks this.

I'm not familiar with Yellowmark? -
Used to be called Cat Classic Parts. Bought a Yellowmark spacer plate for my 3406. Less than half the price of new. Right out of the box it was warped. Measured it and it was really wonky. Thou or 2 above spec in 1 spot, thou or 2 under spec in another. Figured it couldn't be easy to screw up a flat piece of steel but apparently it is.......joey8686, Cat sdp and jamespmack Thank this.

I’m guessing you get what you pay for with aftermarket parts but would be good to hear of someone actually using the kits, people must be using them if they’re in business right??? Somebody somewhere is out there running these parts in a cat engine
