I always payed my kids if they did anything on the truck. If dad is working in a factory or a shop, his kids don't show up to help out for free. Well maybe if its a small shop and he owns it... but y'all get the point. I just figure it's fair.

Doc probably told you this, but don't try too much too soon, let that sucker heal up right, the 1st time. Over the years, I've seen guys, including myself, that've had broken legs, ankles, & foot end up with big problems for not taking the time to let it heal right. When I was 18, I was working in the woods, cut down a sprung tree hung up in another, it spun as it came off the stump and pegged my right foot in the ground, broke it all up. I didn't take the time to let it heal right, and I ended up having to get surgery on it a year or so later because of the damage. Only deer season I ever missed out on. To this day, I'm wary of sprung & hung up trees...

I agree, and was just having fun there. Pops paid me and well sometimes. But you didn't have the choice if you were gonna do it or not. The idea of working for money was instilled in us boys at a young age. No allowance, but you could work for it.
