I have a 14 freightliner cascadia dd15...so last night I parked..and while sitting with the truck on for a lil...the ac stopped blowing cold..then I did a regen...sat with it for a while on..and I started to smell this smell inside the truck..clearly coming thro the vents...so I opened the hood and checked the engine and it was super hot!! Meaning way hotter then it clearly should be...so I turned off the truck..and had it off all night..this morning I turned the key on.. went to the fan to see if I could spin it and it spinned..also last night there was a hvac clutch fan spn0896 code..but now this morning there's no codes..anybody have any idea on what's the problem?
Fan clutch or....???

What was the temperature on the coolant and oil? Opening the hood and going by feel isn't exactly an accurate indication of an overheat condition.

If you run out all the air and then start the truck does the fan kick on?
