It depends on what you’re looking for, if you’re set up to be on the road I think Bruce Oakley is a good starting point. They have a mileage rate and provide the trailers, as far as local work from where I’m from in Florida, there’s a handful of different companies that will bring you on as an O/O and rent you a trailer for a weekly fee.

Not really set up to run the road, I would be interested in picking up a trailer in the 15-20k range and start working in a 200 mile radius. My truck is a 96 too old to lease on with Oakley from my understanding.

Find the quarries around Atlanta , and see what companies are hauling out of them. Also check the hot mix and ready mix concrete plants to see who is hauling material into the plants

I haul quite a bit out of Tate, Whitestone, rock mart and junction city, of course it all comes back down in to Florida but every time I’m in there I see local trucks.

Fed rock to a concrete plant all day today. Easy day back and forth about an hour and a half to turn it. Me and another guy hauled 26 ton a time and still couldn’t keep the pit full. Loaded trap sand at our yard for tomorrow to Topeka and then reload more sand in Topeka for St Joe. Do that twice. Shouldn’t be a bad day. How’s everyone else’s week starting?

I got off to a slow start and got delayed at every turn... but, they say all things happen for a reason and today it was true. Had a pretty major smash em up on the parkway out of town and all my delays put me just far enough behind to miss all the traffic and disaster when I took my last load for the day to Follansbee, WV. All told, I won't complain for a Monday!

I left yesterday and unloaded in Mobile this morning, went up above Montgomery and grabbed a load headed for south Florida that ill deliver in the morning and then hopefully reload again back out to mobile. It’s been quite a while since I’ve been off to the races this early in the week, I’m looking forward to a good financial week this go ‘round.

Well left out this morning got my Troy loaded and headed back south to I-40 for the night. Pretty calm day except when I mashed my finger just hard enough to invent a whole new language.

I think I incorporated some new words today too. It was windier than heck here this afternoon and I flipped open the print out box at the quarry to get my ticket and WHOOSH!! Naturally it was late in the afternoon when all trucks were trying to make their last round, so everyone saw me chasing a ticket tumbleweeding across the scale area

I hate it when that happens.
Sounds like everyone is staying busy! So the paint shop says the week of the 24th thru 28th is when I get the truck back. Might as well take the rest of the month off! I don't know who is more ready to get back in the truck me or Jimy! We go riding around just to get out every other day, other wise we go stir crazy.

    motocross25 and 650cat425 Thank this.
