We run for a wire company pretty regular..... The kid is running one for them right now.

That crap would be strapped to a pallet or they could pull the load.

I'm old and grumpy.... I'll bounce home in a heartbeat...

 

I agree. I've hauled some wire on flatbed. But hauled nothing but spring wire in a van for about 3 years. Floor load 5' coils layered. One strap on the rear. First time I had a band break and slice the side of a 6 month old sheet and post trailer, I was hot. But not my trailer and they all felt it was normal. I sheet!

 

Idk how best to explain it. They only used a single fork truck, spear. Would lay 3 coils down alternating. Then receiver fork truck would slide under the bottom, turn, slide, and turn and slide to pick up all 3 at once. 20-29 of them in the trailer on the floor interlocked together. Would never go anyplace unless it was turned upside down.

 

Wife and I watched it when we got married, and it turned into a routine. We both kinda lost interest, but we’ve watched every episode lol.
