I am currently running the 48 but you can do the western 11 if thats your choice, but the money is better on the 48. Depending on how hard of a worker you are you can average 3k = + a week. i average a little under 12k a month, but yeah its a great company. Very laid back, and to me its like a family. like 2 weeks ago my daughter had to go have her tonsols(cant spell) removed and i told my driver manager that i had to go home, and they were totally cool about it. they understand family matters, etc........... standard home time is 6 days out 1 day home. its a great company but not for teams. they will start you at 36cmp and you have to work your way regardless of how long you have been driving.

At this stage in my trucking career or lack of...I could never run 24/7 like that anymore...regardless of pay...I envy those who can though....

I would go nuts, the constant sound of gears and the engine...passing up nice places, but not being able to get out and enjoy...

But like I said, I envy those who can do it...

Sometimes I think I can...but you would have to really be matched with your co-driver...that can be a hit and miss...

Werner is the second large carrier I ever worked for...back when they were 'fun'...

From what I read other drivers say about them now...I have no idea what they've turned into them....

that goes for a lot of former companies I've worked for...many were good to me or me to them...and I've always made money out there...

But as of late...seems the nature of these companies have really begin to change...it's appauling....like 3rd world appauling....

And it's why people like me are on the side lines now...contemplaiting the next move...
And CR England....from the stuff I read about them, the should almost be outlawed...

At this stage...I'll probabbly just end up starting my own personal business...
After reading the reports in 'Report a bad trucking company'...I just can't willingly subject myself to that stuff no more...

But with all the recently laid off desperate people...now these trucking companies have hundreds of thousands more new students to fill their roles...oh boy...

While you may be only relaying the message, the source is obviously full of it. $150K a year? Maybe as an O/O but not as a company driver and especially not with Werner as a team. Newbie drivers in Western Division are making $0.21 a mile now down from $0.29 and $0.24.

Do you really believe everything you hear? Lets see the paycheck stubs on that one........

Sources on this information please............................. if you say a recruiter, you lose. If you say from a website, you lose. And this comes from an 18 year Werner driver.

And as for that $0.42 for teams, that is not per person, that is split, which comes to $0.21 per mile, per person.... thanks for playing wanna be recruiter!

so what is the end result of this? Who is right? BigRig or Steele? Is Werner a better company for teams than the rest, or what?

There are a lot of assumptions made in your post BigRig. For example, getting 20k miles per month. Even your quote about MTC getting all those miles. Yeah, if the miles were available, I'm pretty sure that even I would still be in a truck running like a dog in heat. But I'm no longer driving because nobody had any miles for a solo driver that literally BEGGED for loads.

In a perfect world, I'd go back and start somewhere at .32-.34/mi and run 3400-4000 miles per week. Having a couple of bucks for a few giggles makes being out on the road for six weeks much easier to swallow. But waking up and wondering if you should spend a few dollars for a hot meal or even less for something out of a truckstop refrigerator, when your cooler of home-cooked food runs out, is NO way to live. If I had freight when I was driving, I would have stuck with it. Couldnt stand the thought of my family starving to death with the lights off back home.

    Steele,

The cpm you quoted how much experience for those team cpm? My husband just got out of training and has teamed with a friend and his pay check says 13 cents per mile so that would be 26 split. They run the 48 states so I was wondering why the difference.
