Hello everyone I’ve been an owner operator for a couple of months now and I have a couple of questions of washing your trucks. I currently have a pressure wash that I use that I’ve owned prior to buying my truck. I use dawn dish soap and scrub my truck, it doesn’t need to be perfect but I try to keep it clean. My question is what kind of cleaner do you guys use and what pressure washers have lasted you and made it worth the money. I have an acid tank so any tips on washing it would also be nice.

Mean Green, and Dawn. A wadded up piece of tinfoil will seriously polish some chrome in a hurry, too. Just wad it up between your thumb and pointer finger, and do little swirling motions with moderate pressure. After about thirty seconds, you'll get the hang of it.

For a "pro-sumer" pressure washer, just about anything with a triplex pump will work good. CAT pumps are great, but Chinese "junk" triplexes will outlast axial pumps that you find on cheap pressure washers. You're looking at about a grand for units like this. If you're wanting to step up to something serious, look for a used Karcher, or something that has built in heat.

First of all don't use dawn dish soap. It can scratch the paint.

I use a RV brush that's not too hard or soft. A small power washer and some car soap from local hardware store.

I’ve used nothing but blue Dawn soap every time I hand wash. It cuts through grease, it’s easier to clean the fronts of your rear ends, and it doesn’t leave a film on your aluminum like car wash soaps with wax. As you can see, my paint is completely trashed.
