2 in straps

2” to run thru parts of the trailers that only have enough room for 2” straps

 

That’s about what it is. They will want to overhang the front. These are the consumer type products. The ones you buy at Lowe’s or Home Depot and places like that.

 

Those trailers are loaded in a pit. Low pro steps will high center in and out. It can be done, but the trailer frame gets dragged over the hump when loaded.

 

Hopefully its not like caravan trailers in Wisconsin. Requires 20 straps. They set the stacks of trailers in front of your trailer, then you throw 4 straps up and down per stack, they load them... then you get to hook and winch them.

Trailers get put on several blocks of wood chunks that aren't the most stable...

If you have several stops more than likely you will have to climb up on top of the stacks and pull out the cotter pins to separate the trailers for the different stops...

Complete PIA. Loaded them once, wont be returning for another load that's for sure.

Trailers...

The last set was a treat; had to stack them by myself. Found an old, unused loading dock in poor repair with a retaining wall in front RIGHT where I needed the front of my truck to be. The recent rain and soft ground/mud didn't help much either. What could go wrong?

 

There was an account at a ranch equipment manufacturer that was drop and hook. Thankfully as it would be slow to load.

You would always pickup 18-25 2" straps as they secure them for multiple stops to various farm suppliers so you could unload separate sections at one time while leaving the rest of the load stable. Well, mostly stable...

Then you would carry the straps all around the map untill you picked up from that place again.

I couldn't imagine the hassle someone might go through to pickup a live load. Even if they didn't have that many 2" straps. 4" would work but I'm sure they would run out of winches and 2"" straps with what IMO a typical open deck drivers carry.

I suppose a person could start throwing chains if they had a way to protect the paint on the product. Just more work than it's worth.
