    Couple extra questions...

Training is manual but most trucks are autos?

What is the standard load out of the truck? Apu, inverter, fridge? As much info on the truck as possible would be great.

It was on their dime, but refusing a trainer stopped it. Outside the school, manuals are very rare. Newer trucks have inverters and fridges.

Very informative post, thanks. I had FFE on my radar as a possible move back to reefer if tanker doesn't pick up, but the low miles you mention are worse than I am doing now.

If you get a truck without an inverter you will not be able to get one or put one in yourself.

No APU, inverter or fridge in most cases. You will not be allowed to put in an inverter. Take along a foam mattress topper, a thick one.

You will most likely get an auto trans.

That is not true. I had a 2015 w/ out an inverter. Talked to the shop in Lancaster. I bought one and they installed it w/out a problem.

So probably depends on the shop/terminal.

I know that all of the trucks that are 2019 and newer come with fridges and inverters. Possibly the 2018 too, but not 100% sure.

Some of the older trucks might already have a inverter from the previous driver.

My 1st truck didn't have an inverter or fridge. (2015 freightliner) I bought an inverter and fridge (Walmart $79).

My 2nd truck was also a 2015 volvo. It came with an inverter. No fridge. No problem, went to Walmart and bought a 3.2 Galanz fridge. Put that one behind the drivers seat in the cabinet. The smaller one (1.7 galanz) from my 1st truck went behind the passenger seat, in the cabinet with my microwave on top. Had that truck till Nov 2019.

My 3rd truck, a 2020 freightliner came with an inverter and fridge. Took my small fridge (1.7 galanz) and put it on top of the already installed fridge ( use it as a freezer). My microwave goes on the shelf above it.

They do come with a standard mattress. I went to Walmart and bought a twin 6in memory foam mattress ($130) and use that on top of the regular mattress. Works great.

It will be the main terminal shop in Lancaster that will install it. That is where linehaul is based out of.
