    Hello.

I was recently hired for a linehaul position with an LTL company. We aren't assigned tractors, it's slipseat. None of the tractors have radios.

Does anybody have any recommendations for portable speakers or boomboxes to have my tunes along for the drive? earbuds are uncomfortable and I'd rather not use headphones anyway as I like to be able to hear what's going on around me as I drive.

    Many thanks.

My Dad has what most LTL Linehaul Drivers had. A suitcase with an Am/Fm, and a CB. An antenna, with vice grips welded to the bracket. A modern day version, could be awesome, with blue tooth technology, improved mini speakers, small amp maybe. Add a phone charger, and a mini laptop, or IPad.

Google slipseat boxes. You can either make one or buy on. You add the radio and speakers and cb.

Get some small computer speakers and adapter to plug into your smart phone. Works good. The speakers have long enough wires to set them anywhere you want them and still have the phone close to you. Calls also can go through the speakers like in a new car. Some adapters can also be hooked to the charger at the same time so its hands free all day.

    Rideandrepair and Truemac Thank this.

Years ago I built a box that held a car stereo facing up and held two speakers that I could take out to put on opposite sides.

Now just get a bluetooth speaker box, @JReding was mentioning the Sony models so I bought one when it was on clearance and it works well. I'd get one with an input jack in case your bluetooth doesn't work well.

Those Bluetooth soundbars are really good. But, you get what you pay for, don't go too cheap.

Appreciate all the input. I've seen some of the drivers up here using slipseat boxes, may see how they got about acquiring theirs.
