Welcome aboard! One of the best decisions I ever made was coming here three and half years ago. Many guys do get issued brand new trucks out
of orientation. All trucks have APUs, refrigerators, inverters, and flatscreen mounts. If you go with direct or dish network, the shop will mount your antenna as long as you provide all the needed hardware.

You live in a good area. The closer to I-35 the better. I live in Norman and I stopped at home Thursday on my way to deliver in Texas Friday morning. Reloaded and I was back home Friday evening. I'll be leaving tomorrow for a Monday morning in Sioux City. If all goes well I'll get a reload for Texas to deliver Tuesday and I'll be back home Monday night.

That's good to hear, I live in Shawnee, so it should work out well for me hopefully.

Is leaving out on Sunday a normal thing? Kinda kills the weekends off. Wouldn't be bad every now and then, just wondering if this happens a lot?

    Crusader66 Thanks this.

@BigR ... I’ll add my Welcome to those above.

new here too and I totally understand the changing jobs being a big issue... I made the jump and pretty happy I did... pros and cons with any place but FCC is well organized, maintains their equipment, and pretty laid back kind of place. The KW that I was assigned had a prior driver but it only had 60k on it so it was probably the newest truck I’ve run... oh, and was, and I kid you not, literally Showroom Clean when I hopped in. I don’t know who does their Detailing but WOW!!!

I’m OTR so can’t answer the regional home weekends question but I too would be interested in knowing how that works... are you actually home for the “weekend” or is it more like a glorified weekly 34 reset? Regional isn’t really an option for me but I would like to know just in case.

Sorry about the cut in pay but it will be a good move other than that.

I guess I'll be checking in here from time to time as a newly christened FCC driver. I went through orientation with @RStewart and am under my first load....and need to be off Thu-Sun of this week for step-sons wedding and FCC had exactly 0 problems with that. @BigR I was assigned a 62 mile old truck along with the other company driver in orientation....the Service Manager said that's all they had available, that should tell you something.

Ive been on the sw fleet for 3 yrs now. I have been home every weekend except for the few times i chose to stay out. How long at home depends on the load. I usually get home on fri or sat then leave on sun or mon.

Just like the post above says, kinda depends on the load. My weekend this weekend is going to be from Friday at 4:30 to 10:00 am Sunday. I could leave later but if rather get to my customer by 7 or 8 pm and then not have to start my clock Monday until I unload. Then I'll have a full clock for Monday. I doubt there will be many Monday-Friday weeks with Saturday and Sunday completely off. Might happen every now and then but I don't expect it to be the norm.
