Yea well for some of the drivers here the company needs to have em sign such a paper. Several drivers here are always dropping crap like maintenance issues or trailers needing washed out that they should've had taken care of but no they don't care about anyone but themselves. Just leave it for the next guy to take care of. Maybe if they started getting fined for costing the next guy breakdown time the crap would stop.

Sad thing is..thats industry wide and I’ve been saying that for a long time..but companies are too scared to lose drivers..frankly why would they want to keep drivers like that anyway..smhdwells40, bryan21384 and Lumper Humper Thank this.

If that driver had to restack the whole trailer, then I would bet he would drive a lot different next time, but we know that’s not happening.bryan21384, Professor No-Name, Lumper Humper and 1 other person Thank this.

I once worked for a company that ran a lot of old equipment. They hung on to everything till they got all the useable parts off it. We had a very big problem with driver's not taking care of maintenance issues. So they started tracing obvious maintenance problems back to the previous driver that had dropped it without getting it fixed or red tagging it at one of our shops to be fixed before next use. They would charge the previous driver that left it the breakdown time that the next driver had to spend getting it fixed.dwells40, bryan21384, Lumper Humper and 1 other person Thank this.

That money they charge the driver Should go to the driver who wasted the day sitting around getting it fixedbryan21384 and Lumper Humper Thank this.

Yea we got paid the breakdown but it came outta the previous driver's check who failed to have the problem addressed.drvrtech77, bryan21384 and Lumper Humper Thank this.

And I've brought this issue up with our safety director and dispatch but nothing has ever been done. An just like you said dispatch said they can't fine previous driver's for not doin their job an having issues fixed cuz they're too afraid of losing drivers. An I'm of your same opinion. Why would ya want driver's who don't do their job safely. One a these days one of those maintenance issues could possibly be the cause of an accident on the road and the lawsuit that follows it.bryan21384, Lumper Humper and drvrtech77 Thank this.
