That is awsome. I would love to give the Cannonball a shot if I were at a point in life where the possibilty of arrest was not a concern. I would think a Mercedes S63 AMG would be a good choice for a record run attempt.

"...and visual changes, like a reshaped front grille with a decoy badge to make the Audi resemble a Ford Taurus-based Police Interceptor when viewed from a distance."

Brilliant. It does indeed look like a plain wrapper Taurus at first glance.

Over 2700 miles in less than 26 hours. They claimed an average of 112 mph. Sounds fishy to me. It's more likely they put that GPS on a plane and flew it out there to get the numbers they claim.

It’s actually quite well documented. And the second time they broke it in a few months. The record has been broken several times since covid 19 became a thing.

Here is my record, well documented at every DOT scale. They need to learn how to drive high speed.

Actually it is quite possible. Most Audis (including the A6/S6 series) are electronically governed at 155 mph from the factory to keep the legal department (and warranty gods) happy. However some folks will reflash the ECU or rechip the car to get rid of the governer. It’s not uncommon to hear of an Audi reaching 175 mph when it has been modified as such.
