Local Cartage company, bottom of the barrel, but taught Me a lot, in a short time. I left ASAP, but afterwards they grew into a decent paying outfit. With all their faults, I’m grateful to this day, for they’re help. Local gig without experience is hard, but not impossible to find.

if however you "knew someone" that could get you into a local job, you were lucky.
it's a phrase called, "paying your dues", and it is quite common actually in just about ever trade, vacation out there.
get on the road, for about at least 6 months, winter is coming, you'll get winter driving time. maybe by spring time, you can try applying for local jobs.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.
