Ole girl says she’s going to limp mode, 5mph speed, in 60 miles.
So I’m stuck in Louisiana awaiting a hurricane or two.
Hope your day is better than mine right now!
Thank you emissions

Does it say why? Low def? Full filter? What you driving?
-
What brand of truck is it? ... on a volvo unpluging the speed sensor will give you 1500 rpm or 60 mph enough to get out to a shop or safe place...BoxCarKidd and rccarlson22 Thank this.

So I had just filled the DEF tank about 20 miles before the warning came up, maybe bad DEF from that particular truck stop?
The warning doesn’t say why, just says service DEF system, see dealer. And then the check engine light came on about 50 miles after the warning to go to limp mode.
It’s basically the same truck you have. 2019 Ram 3500. Just hit 51k miles. I do fuel and oil filters every 10k, air filter every 25k24kHotshot Thanks this. -
2019 Ram 3500, I found a shop in Rayne, LA that’s taking care of it and fortunately I had enough miles to get here before limp mode. -
I have a load on the trailer and have a load at the destination back to my hometown. Everyone is understanding and not upset about the delay so there is a positive.
Lite bug and 24kHotshot Thank this. -
Might be bad def. I use box def I buy by the skid. Comes out to about $7.50 a box/2.5 gal. 75k miles so far with no issue.
Do you idle a lot?rccarlson22 Thanks this. -
I never thought to do that...no I never idle, truck has over 1000 drive hours and maybe 100 idle.
$2200 for parts and labor...there goes this months profits!24kHotshot Thanks this. -
What did they replace? What broke?
-
The injector had a ton of crystallization over it.
I’m having it permanently fixed...
