Accidental trucker - what was your complaint that led to taking the truck in for service ??

this is my second Kw battery APU. Recently I’ve noticed that the batts die about 5-6 hours into the system running, even on normal nights. Not very hot. Batts are 9 months old on a 2020 t680

When using the A/C, you must have the fan on the lowest setting or the batteries will drain quickly. It's enough to keep the bunk cool but nothing up front. I run my A/C at night on low fan and with the temp set at around 78. Keeps me cool enough to sleep and the batteries last all night. Batteries can last 2 days using the furnace. The blower on it uses much less juice.

10-4. I do the lowest fan setting temp on 72 but I don’t close the curtain between the sleeper and the cab. My dog sleeps up front. I can’t tell if it’s just always running the compressor (which would use much more battery) or if there is a problem.

Yeah if you're running the temp at 72 the compressor will pretty much be on non-stop if it's hot outside. You have to put it up as high as you can tolerate.

We had a "low battery" status, even when the batteries were fully charged. Some circuitry issue, basically a popped fuse that took three tries to diagnose.

We've been running for a little over 2 years on the system, and batteries are still holding up just fine for what we do.

Thanks. My previous KW battery apu worked great too. But it was a mid roof and I used the curtain to only cool what was needed.
Tried something new by not using the curtain, and it seems that is just too much space to keep colder for 10 hours.

I have the curtains around the windshield and the curtains between the bunk and the front. I haven't used the bunk curtains one time since the truck was new. I guess that would make it easier to cool things down in the bunk area.

That tiny diesel can save your ###. Ac go out? Alternator? You fire it up and keep rolling, no jump starts needed.
