So I’ve been thinking about new tarps for a year now. I’ve never had new tarps. I got a used up set with the trailer I bought 5 years ago. I rounded up 2 more used short ones along the way. I’ve used all 4 a few times on 8’ tall stuff. I’m headed to tri city canvas in the morning to order some.
Thinking:
2x 8’ lumber tarps 18’ long
2x 4’ lumber tarps 16’ long
1 machinery tarp 24’ x 20’ d rings on all sides
stainless D rings every 2’ with the little flap under them.
Thinking red or black n orange?
I’d like a little colored tag on each to identify them when rolled up.
The idea is that the 2x 4’ do %90 of the work and the machine tarp can lengthen the 4’ OR the 8’ out to 53’.
Am I missing anything. I’m open to all ideas or thoughts?

I run general freight in the Midwest. Nothing dedicated. Currently running a 48’ highboy but new trailer in the works for the beginning of the year.

I'd like to offer advice, but I'm one of them imitation flatbedders with a hidekit. Best I can tell you is don't order light colored tarps. I had a beautiful purple tarp that matched the fenders on my truck... it had big black soot streaks and marks on it in no time.

It's because it was purple, and a pete. And you smoke way to much!

I don't have much to add but, if you have never purchased tarps from Tri-city you will definitely be happy with them...
Don't think I will ever buy tarps from anyone else...
Quick turnaround as well... my special order tarp was ready in a day...singlescrewshaker, kylefitzy, D.Tibbitt and 3 others Thank this. -
I would get black . Every time i see other color , its usually dirty and ugly unless you wash them often ( not sure who does ) or know something how to keep them clean .

I have 4' with flaps on one end that are 18' (from a 3 piece 4' drop set) and have times that they wouldn't have worked alone if they were only 16' long, but you know best what you usually load.
