The brackets that are on there is a piss poor design. The guy that did my brake chambers yesterday told me Fontaine has a really nice bracket that works great. It has additional hardware that mounts to the cross members, then drops down along the side of the box.

Those brackets are $450 a pair. Well worth it if you're planning on keeping the trailer long term, but since we're gonna try for an upgrade in the next couple years, it doesn't make sense to spend money we don't need to.

Except are binders are indoor sissys. It does make a difference being covered 98% of the time. I only need lube mine about twice a year. I agree on the fluid film. I how ever keep mine extended and ready to use. Just hang them in the rack and hook chain in all the bottom ends.

Side note, maybe you have seen this. I had never till recent. Guy had some brakets welded on about 3 right side stakes to hold 3 binders each. So you were not walking to the front everytime.

Be careful with snap binders. You’ll end up rearranging your teeth.
