Lowboy work certainly had its good days. Track loaders are nice to haul.

What’s the difference between a lowboy and a regular flat deck?

I guess I’m asking for what purpose are they better suited

Well, the term "lowboy" typically refers to your average removable gooseneck trailer used by construction companies to move their equipment, while your flat deck is just a basic open deck 4' from the ground.

So it’s legal to haul that piece of machinery on a lowboy because of the lower height whereas it would be illegal with the flat deck because it’s over the legal height limit? Think I get it now

For that particular piece yes. Idk the height of that machine but it would break that flatbed in half if they tried loading it

Even with lowbeds you can still be overheight.
