    i see it this way in trucking, if you want OT you cant deliver stuff on a pallet, why not do Tanks ?

    Depends how far you want to run.

    Some city drivers don't want to run more than 5 miles from the yard, but if you want the big bucks as a peddle hand you have to take a long run.

    most of us dont get ot tho, regional carriers only pay straight time, in LA . OD,Saia,RL,Daylight,tony express,central trans, OAK,central freight all straight time....the only carries that pay ot that i know of is FXF, UPS, BYX, XPO ....

    Ok, I'll rephrase since I misunderstood.

    I get plenty of hours, just not "time and a half" pay for it.

    FXF does pay it, but they'll sure as hell bend over backwards to try and make sure you don't get it.

    Any updates from anyone working at Ward? They are paying $29 and change and hour up here in the NE, what kind of hours are the pick up and delivery driver's getting?

    Saia pays O/T after 45 and has no issue paying it so long as there is freight to move.

    The FXF barn near mine has a reputation for giving drivers Fridays off if they get too close to the tipping point.

    That’s not an uncommon practice at FXF. Yeah, it’s nice that they do OT after 8/40, whether you routinely see it or not is another matter.
