They allow them, they want to install them (though when they install who knows)
There is a limit but I cannot remember what it is. Mine was like 1200 and ran everything I needed. I installed it and they checked it. Because they were going to charge me to install.
That reminds me. I need my inverter, air hose, jumper cables ect out of my last truck. Guess I better head into work tomarrow. I hear they parked an older truck and are using mine, so hopefully my things are still there lol.
It had an engine warranty, so they are using it as one of the few that is going right now.

    Update time.

3 weeks in and only this week to go.

So excited to get my own truck and get back to cali and see the fam and the old lady.

When I go to salt lake to upgrade are they going to stick me in the cell block with the rest of the central inmates or are they going to send me to the motel?

Well nothing really new going on. Heck of a wind storm going thru new mexico, them 3,000lbs of dixie cups were haulin aren't that stable. ;) Were on our way to denver to grab some beer going to PA and were not even getting close enough to shake a stick at philly this time.

Anyways...... Hey jess where's my chewy gooey caramel? And 6Pak wants some brittle to.

All right ladys and gents will let ya know when I upgrade. Will give ya all the details of my truck so u can get outta the way when I'm on the road.

    Drive safe. The snows afallen

It's all an adventure. Getting lost down a skinny country road with no hope of turning around, or lost in a small town and following a Con-way truck thinking he will lead me to a truck friendly road and turns out it was the blind leading the blind when the streets get too skinny to go any further. Getting lost in NJ down the bumpiest roads possible (CS/Pathmark) to Pittsburgh bridges and small city streets both reminding me of growing up in Chicago, so I wonder can NYC be much worse? Anyone try to follow the signs on the Pitts bridges designed and placed between the rafters above so only 4 wheelers can see and we truckers see them when directly under them and too late to change lanes? I stopped and waited to change lanes in the middle of traffic, learning from NJ to not keep moving and go down the wrong direction to try and work my way back to the right interstate. All part of learning and truly an adventure every run and with each dilema one gains confidence and wonders what worse can happen? But something will but does lessen the fear each time.

On to shippers/receivers which I read how badly they treated drivers before entering this lifestyle but all except one have been friendly and nice but there is a style one must present to break the ice and be treated like a friend. Those who have it know what I mean. The one jerk was towards my trainer and he was a Coors distributor in Ventura CA.

Also in Conley I was told by a trainee how there were so many guys sitting for days waiting for loads but I have been lucky I guess running like crazy. Got a load after my 10hr there and glad to get out of that rainy city a couple weeks ago. Barely time to stop for a leak on one run from MN to NJ but it's all an adventure and fun.

And how bout Kraft in Champaign, IL. I spent almost 3 hrs on a drop and hook (a record?) trying to get it in the hole in those skinny lanes and working out of failed attempts in the lanes by the RR tracks next to the building. Some of you know what I'm talking about.

Well I look forward to hitting the many locations you more experienced drivers have had to work through but it's all a confidence builder. Now if I can get through winter that will be the ultimate!

    Rakusa,
You've got the very attitude that is needed out here and it will take you far. I can tell that you will most likely be one of us who last longer than a year because we truly enjoy being out here and learning. Yep. We're going to screw up and some of them are going to be big ones. I've called for a tow truck and paid for it out of my own pocket before so that the company wouldn't know. Thank goodness i had the money. You can be dang sure tho, that mistake won't happen again!! lol

You'll get thru your 1 st snow just fine. Remember to slow daown and take it real easy. Luckily, I don't have to worry bout chains but remember, there there to only get you out of trouble and NOT into it!!!!!!!!!!!

I had my 1st 2 snows , back to back in Ohio, like 3 days apart. The kind that your just following the tracks in front of you and listeneing for the rumble strips if you stray off the path. What a jolly time that was. Gotta tell you, I was pretty well freaking the 1 st time that happened. Last bad snow was going thru New Mexico and they closed the road behind us. Slow and easy sir and few problems will you have. Course I ain't speaking about Colorado and there passes, your on your own there. lol

I have decided to go with MS Streets and Trips for starters after a driver showed me his in NJ. Connect to the internet and one can zoom in from the eye in the sky and see the location... awesome so for $78 2010 version I am ordering as I sit in Pilot now. Too many times the routing says to go south/west and the choices are south/east or north/west or to go south but the only choice is north and blah blah blah so one needs to get something else. Want the Garmin 465T but for $499 I'll try MS S/T first. What do you experienced drivers use? Also going with Sprint instead of my cell provider Verizon since Sprint has the unlimited vs VZ 5GB/month. One driver told me VZ told him one can stream a 3hr movie a day an not hit 5GB/month but he came close (he said not streaming movies). Anyway my chains are so rusty and I can't remember how to put them on anyway so I guess I'll be one of those that parks when it's chain time.

Thanks Panhandle Flash, I plan on being with Central for over a year. Central has been good to me so far too and the only difficulty I've been having is getting a pword for a mac61. Asked a couple times so sent a mac1 with the pword I want so I'll check to see if I can get in tonight.

Another thing I learned is when one has to call OSD for a claim number it is faster to call Kraft and get it yourself and give it to OSD lol.
