The plungers have to be set with the rack at the half way position. Best thing is just keep running it and hope it frees up

ty ty i hate to but its looking that way and i do appreciate all the advice and thought when its cold and ya push fuel rack back starts like a new truck so i took her for a drive run right along parked it and after the little drive and warmed it up a bit shut it off ya could not drop it outta a tree n start it wonder what gets warm and lets it suck air not fuel

Those old b models . Have you tried turning key in the on position , then put throttle pedel to the floor once and release. Now try starting it.
Also its perfectly normal to have your fuel pressure go to zero 4 seconds after shutting it off. There is no check valve that holds pressure in the injection pump / fuel system like a c15 or E model has. Its just a restrictor fitting in the return line on injection pump.650cat425, spsauerland and 3406b4me Thank this. -
i tryed the 1 full pedal push i tryed touching the pedal just a bit but when its cold in the morning it starts good and the rack is not going back to the middle but when its cool in morning and engine is cool bout 60 degrees here in am starts right offf but atfer bout six or seven starts it begins to show its self and it has sat for bout a year n half and had some gummy nasty fuel sucked it up in filters and its better than it was is there any thing in the pump its self that it would damage if i took it off and set it in a bucket of carb cleaner for a week and then rinsed it out with diesel fuel rubber seals , neopreme washers, fibers , ect ,ect ? it probaly be best as tj379 said to just take it to a shop but i feel there is just sumthin sticking due to gummy nasty fuel. pump was done not to long before parked , so if i can avoid 3 or 4 grand repair id sure like to try lol and after it starts runs great so has any one ever soaked an pump in cleaner then rinsed it out with clean fuel ? or any idea y it starts better till it warms up an older gent that worked on trucks here a lot said put a set of seals on injectors but i thought all these injectors have on em is carbon damms he says its suckig air round seals all fuel lines brand new 45 pound fuel pressure

Before I’d do that i would try filling filters with Fuel conditioner start it for a few seconds then shut off and leave it for a day . Maybe that will soften the gumminess .
