Just a heads up. All Mobile Internet services are capped at 5gb, even Sprint. Even worse, according to Sprint's website, going over 5gb/month could be rather costly.
They do have a plan for 80 bucks/month that has "Unlimited" access as long as you're on their "4G network" , but it's only in select cities. If you're not in one of those cities you're routed to their 3G network and are right back to the 5gb/month limit.
The select cities are:
Atlanta, GA
Baltimore, MD
Bellingham, WA
Boise, ID
Las Vegas, NV
Portland, OR
I don't have Sprint, AT&T or Verizon or anything, just been researching as I leave for school tomorrow and wanted to find the "best" option for when I finally go solo. So far it looks like no matter who I ( or you ) go with, it all boils down to 60 bucks a month for 5GB. -
I have had sprint a long time. They do not have a limit.
Or at least did not when I got mine and I have never been dinged. And I go well over 5 gigs a month playing online games ect.
So who knows, maybe something changed with them, but it was not changed for me lol. -
have had sprint 10 years now. they are always the cheapest. and have never capped my service. i use my phone as a modem. not one overage charge yet.
for those of you that don't know. there is also a websight called truckmiles.com.
it gives you all the truck stops along your route. how many miles along the route and how long it will take for the route. from any given point to given point. it's seems to be pretty good speed wise. it knows how long it will take you through the mountains vs. flatlands traveling the same distance.rakusa, Poobah and Panhandle flash Thank this. -
sprint seems to come and go. one day it's advertised and the next day it's not. mostly it's not.
the 5gig. that isLast edited: Oct 1, 2009
