I think that it would depend on location

Some of it goes to road construction, some haul year around to shingle manufacters, some haul heavy heating oil for boilers that heat schools, etc. Usually it originates at a refinery.

As @mnmover stated it depends on where you’re delivering it too and which part of the country you live in. The company Im leased had me running oil to chip seal road jobs this summer for the different counties here in Washington state. It goes gang busters 4 day a week from mid june to mid august, maybe early september if the weather holds, then the door slams shut on most oil hauling in the area.

We could ask Patty J if she was still around. She did an asphalt tanker gig that almost killed her,,,I believe. She couldn't handle the fumes. Not sure what she was expecting, but a good job, load/unload anytime, pay is good, usually large cars, and the most impartent port? Never a backhaul!!!

In our area hauling road oil is very seasonal. It also depends on how much road work is being done. It's not something you can depend on.

It's hauled out of refineries to storage, from barge terminals and rail yards. To end users like paving and shingles is only the most obvious.

You might load at a refinery, or one of the aforementioned barge or rail(sometimes both of those in the same yard), or from storage places that are scattered anywhere there are lots of paving mixers located.

It's hot and messy. You need to be able to climb on the tankers and supervise the loading(hold the spout at many or most of them).

Not going to find much work in the winter time. Now summer time if you can find the work. It can be more then you can haul. You would be hauling out of Memphis/ Mud Island, or Yellow creek. Most of the hauls around Jackson is taken by company's that get the jobs because who they are.
