Any reason I shouldn't turn up the HP on my new truck?

..... but you have to put some value in there. Mine is 99, I’ve heard some shop won’t go above 80. But that’s second hand info.....

Unless you have driven a truck with 264 then your opinion don't matter mine is running 264 and a direct drive does good on the hills, drop one under direct and pull mount eagle full gross all most 50 mph,

Myself I wouldn't waste the money going up to 450. I'd see if they could uprate it to 530 at least.

Because they listen to bean counters, and bean counters--by their very nature--are incapable of seeing the big picture. "Durr, small motor uses less fuel. Less power means uses less fuel. Durr." We know that there are a whole lot more variables involved, and that the best way to increase fuel mileage is to spec the truck with big power and tall gearing and put a truck driver, not a steering wheel attendant, in the seat. But what do we know, we never went to college...

Look at the caliber of today's average driver. Give them more than 400/1,650 and they'd be tearing trucks apart. Takes finesse to handle big power.

Correct grammar is "your opinion doesn't matter" not your opinion don't matter. If you think your truck pulls good on the hills, then thats all that matters.

This is funny because I bought the same 2017 T680 isx15. I have it set at 450hp and removed all restrictions and did the “can’t talk about” update.

I do mountains and mostly Midwest to the coast and back runs and the truck so far is phenomenal in fuel mileage and I like the power.

These trucks can be turned up a lot but remember more power is more fuel. 450hp should be fine.

    More power is less fuel.

Today's engines have more power and get better economy.

You're not using as much throttle to obtain speed.

You climb hills faster. Less time spent holding throttle to floor.

It takes 11 hours to get from A to B. Instead of 13 hours. You used 5 gallons less and saved 2 hours of engine run time.

    The 16 FL i drove was a 515. And got .5 better then the 12 FL 450 I drove.
