I dragged my tandems thru one that had a pond in the middle, no apron, just a tight ### turn with grass and a pond , hell my drives was in the grass and tandem inside the pond . some town in PA i forget the name but its probly been around since christopher columbus came to explore.
Maybe someone knows the answer.

Meh... I’ve more or less come to accept them. They wouldn’t be so bad if everyone would use them properly and follow the #### rules.
Biggest problem I have had is idiots trying to pass me, either on the approach or within the roundabout. It rarely works out in their favor.alds, WildTiger1990, stillwurkin and 3 others Thank this. -
A few things ... roundabouts are an american invention.
here in Michigan, the top four worst intersections where a lot of accidents happen are all roundabouts.
One of them 18 1/2 mile road and Van Dyke I went through the other day twice and both times there was an accident, East side has a bunch of morons. The first one was so stupid, the girl was messing with her phone and entered the roundabout in front of a truck, boom!
The other I go through three times a week, it is at state and Ellsworth. The dumbest accident I saw was with a school bus driver who took the outside lane and decided to cut in front of a pickup to make a left, the idiot then tried to lie about what lane he was in, thanks my dash cam it disproved his statement.stillwurkin and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
The UK started the trend before France.
Wait till the new Dutch design round about is being used.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Doesn't help we likely have the stupidest roundabout in the US at Lee and US23 in Brightonalds Thanks this.

Until more states follow WI’s lead and legislate that trucks have the right of way then when it’s possible for me to stay in one lane and use the apron I will choose to do so.gentleroger, D.Tibbitt and alds Thank this.

When I hit one, I take up as much room as I can. I’m not sure what the rules are but I go slow and make my intentions obvious while taking every square inch available.
what I really don’t understand are the overpass intersection where everyone passes on the wrong side? Not sure what’s happening there?Tb0n3, Midnightrider909, alds and 1 other person Thank this. -
Nobody is making left turns in front of oncoming traffic I think is the reason behind that crazy setup.Isafarmboy and singlescrewshaker Thank this.

Same as you. I hog every inch I can get. Apron, curb, either way my wagon rides low & 17.5" rubber isn't real forgiving bumping up & over something..
I believe that wrong side thing is called a Cloverleaf.? At least that is what I was referring to what they just built at the exits around here..
Well at least that is an answer.!
I've asked lots of people around here what the point of them is, & you are 1st to give a respectable response..

The first one I saw was in Cheyenne and I didn’t know what the heck I was looking at.
Also, google diverging diamond interchange for all the reasons the engineers like them.Accidental Trucker, alds, gentleroger and 4 others Thank this.
