On this day... 19 years ago 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 71 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift. None of them saw past 10:00am Sept 11, 2001. In one single moment life would never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted.
#wewillneverforget. ⚪️
God bless them

Hard to believe that was 19 years ago already. I remember that day just like it was yesterday.

I didn't have a drivers license then due to dui and fresh out of a divorce.
I walked out on the deck that morning near offutt afb and saw 1 of air force 1s planes heading into offutt ...wasn't one of my prouder days .Roberts450, sirhwy, Sirscrapntruckalot and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'll never forget that day either. I've basically forgotten every other day of my life except for that day and the day the space shuttle blew up. I was in elementary school but still remember it vividly. Those two and my wedding day and the days my kids were born. Strange.

I was supposed to be up there that morning, but switched with another driver. He was sitting on the GW when the first plane hit. It was 14:00 by the time he got on the LIE.

First..
Well said @Cat sdp .
Not much else I can add to it.
Far as remembering the day...I remember all to well. I had family in DC and friends working. It sucked trying to get a hold of everyone, as the cell lines were jammed and/or down. Had friends up in NYC to, thankfully they were ok. I should be happy but 3,000 give or take others weren't so lucky.
Very sad day. I still think of those folks who died often, and every time I return for a visit.
Mankind is truly it's own worse enemy.
This is where I'd normally say something silly/stupid, or post a meme making fun of someone or something, but instead I think I shall put this here.

Wow. 19 years ago. I was driving a stagecoach back then, I had picked up a group of cattle ranchers in Murdo, SD, we headed down through the sand hills of Nebraska. We stopped in Valentine, NE to use the restroom at a gas station, the group walked into the gas station and there on the TV was the airplane flying into the second tower. The “grasslands and cattle” tour continued on in utter shock. We had no media along with us, but we all knew the reality, of those that inevitably had lost their lives. There was no amount of partying in this group, they all wanted to go to their rooms that night and watch the news.
