My favorite truck stops has to be the small chain of Bosselman's, especially Grand Island and Big Springs, Nebraska. I was especially glad to hear when they allowed Pilot to run the fuel part of it but they cannot touch anything else. Chuck Bosselman even told them, "I've seen what you've done to other truck stops you've taken over, you ain't doing it to ours."
Best Truck stop in the USA

Eastgate in Evansville is a decent replacement for the Flying J, they just need to adjust their prices and clean the place up a little bit. They get so much oilfiled traffic the lot is a little on the damgerous side. Bosselman's are great as well.
the only down side to Little America is they have some really stupid tire policies. Since I haul containers, some of the chassis still have the older style two piece wheels. Coming back from MT. last year, had a blow out. Since I was empty, and the steamship line didn't want to replace the tire, I stopped in there to have them single it out. They refused to single it out, citing it was unsafe and dangerous to other motorists. Had to limp to Art's behind the Shamrock (talk about a dump) and have them single it out for me.
The only bad Bosselman's is the one in Grand Island, it's a little weird and some of the people need attitude adjustments, otherwise it's a great chain. -
This thread makes me realize that i really haven't been to that many places.
But based on the limited areas that i've been to, i feel North Baltimore ohio's petro is probably the truckstop that's impressed me the most. Plenty of parking.
I-80 is also ok---also plenty of parking.
Worst would be almost any T/A except breezewood. -
I have a new fav.... Bio Willie's in Carls Corner. I stopped in there the other night for the first time in years. All new building, nice little convenience store/gift area, restaurant was great (a little pricey though), the walk of fame with all the Willie memorabilia, a dance and concert hall, all new fuel islands with vacuums. Heck, you could even buy a guitar there!
Iowa 80 has grown and grown and grown over my near 13 years. Still a great place though. One "Travel Center" that still puts truckers first! -
I gotta agree with ya Willie's Place is one of my favorites, I love the scrub brushes at the fuel Island as well.

The flyin hook in Phoenix is on I-10 not I40

Dysarts in Bangor Me. gets votes from me. As well as Wings America, I80 exit 40 in Iowa. Most the chains are alright in a pinch, but I don't like being pinched. Most of the J's I've been to usually have a fair bit of parking when I usually shutdown around 1600-1700 in the afternoon.

I vote for any TS that DONT have lot lizards that carry a credit card machine withem.

Old Trick(no pun intended) - Lot Lizards that put onions under their eyes, throw it away, and then come up to ya saying "Oh please, my husbands a trucker and he needs a hundred for a new frig"......Heres a couplea bucks, go buy a styrofoam cooler", then smiles at me as she walks away,(Idiot didnt know I gave her 2 walmart coupons)(think they outta wear those miner helmets with flashlights to see what theyre getting). -
That one in Walcott is the best. If you've never seen a "midget" big truck before, go there. As i stood looking at this freighshaker, the windows came to my chest, wood mahogany panels, plush pile carpet, chrome stacks with oxidized silver plating, simply beauuutiful. Also, manymany California based bigtrucks with expensive muriels that stretched all the way bk to the dot bar. Last visit seen 7 NASCAR bigtrucks with trailers that you had to wear sunglasses to look atem, AND Allied had some KNOCKOUT O/O bigtrucks there.
