One time in the late 70s in January it was real cold for about a week ( below zero) I loaded hay and carried the mail to Homestead the next morning. When they started to unload the hay was wet. Well they wanted to refuse the load. I said no your going to have to air stack it because it’s cold. They didn’t understand so I took my pulp thermometer stuck in a bale it read 26 degrees (it was 80 degrees and muggy) that took a while to sort out. I had to explain condensation to them.

For those of you that have never seen an Idaho potatoes harvest up close... I know Carl personally and have been in most of the fields in the first video.

The second video is Wada Farms just down the road from my home... And I have picked up OTR loads of potatoes from the warehouse you see at the end.

On another note maybe some of you more experienced flatbed guys could give me a hint about the Texas panhandle— would you take a cheap load to get there?
