Newbie Starting Soon

Update I am thinking about taking an earlier retirement from current job and getting back into transportation full time. I will look into Schneider and FFE. I strongly prefer to be home daily even at lower pay potential. I just applied to USPS (doesn't require a lot of experience) and FedEx for their apprentice program with my fingers crossed and eyes open.

I didn't stay long with Penske because pay, weekends only and a lot of the equipment was unsafe to drive in my mind.

 

Looking at many jobs with big companies they want doubles/triples, hazardous and tanker endorsements. I took the fingerprints and started my background check for the hazardous test. I was told it can be 2-6 weeks to wait for the results before I can take the test. I took and passed the tanker and double/triples today.

I plan on getting CDL refresher training at a reputable school since it has been a few years since I have been in a rig.
