As for the glider kit ridiculous pricing, this is one of the fairer ones I've seen that interested me. Funny thing is, it was listed at $74500 like 3 months ago in Kenly, NC.. The old ad offered to swap out the singles on the rear too..
If it was a flattop, & checked out good I'd put $25-$30k on it, sign my life away for a year or 2, & delt with the 10speed till then..

I’ve shot a lot of 45/70 over the years. Happens to be one of my Dads favorite calibers. Dad still has his Remington Rolling Block, it weighs 11 lbs if my memory serves me.
Although 200 yds is doable, you’re not going to likely do it with factory ammo, and be able to group as tight as you’d like. And with open sights, is going to complicate things a little. A 45/70 set for a 200 yd target, you try to shoot a deer at 50 yds you need to hold over his back lol..... they really lob them in there as a figure of speech.
You know the difference between a freight train and a sports car??? Same difference between a big bore and a 243, 22-250, 222, 223, 220 Swift, or even a 25-06. Seen dad shoot a whistle pig at about 80 yds with his 45/70 one time ( yes it killed it ) But it also picked him up and up ended the whistle pig a good 6 feet lol....
We always shot 125 yds down at dads, but shot farther at the range. A 45/70 with open sights and good round that ( the gun likes ) can shoot some impressive groups at 100 yds. Keep in mind the heavier the bullet the slower it goes. In the area of 1800 ft sec ( more or less ) is about normal for 450 gr cast 45/70
All in all very good calibers! My Freind Tony has a 45/70 Henry and loves it.....PoleCrusher, cke, 650cat425 and 4 others Thank this. -
