There is a lot with Amazon daycab trucks on I35e in Waxahachie Texas. I just noticed them this week driving by.

They don’t really have a private fleet from what I’ve seen out here in Virginia. When you look under the Amazon logo on the doors you’ll see different names on them from leased companies, just like FedEx Ground day cabs ran under a different authority.

For the non believers here you go, I see them all the time now with their big DC in Riverside Ca. Amazon is rolling out branded trucks — showing it's becoming a trucker - Business Insider

They may need their own fleet...

Must be different here in Virginia , They use the same Amazon grey Volvo/KW trucks in the photo above and those guys park the rigs as well at their DC near Richmond. Either way the pay seems low $17 I’ll ask about the 3rd party name under the logo when I see a driver. Right now I’m shuttling all Amazon loads out of Cal Cartage to the drop lot.

Amazon calls this T.O.M. Transportation Operations Management
The people that check you in at the gate house also drive the yard hostling trucks , Amazon company day cabs(grey Volvos and KW's here) take out the trash , receiving ,etc .. They get paid hourly and work 4 10 hour shifts . These are actual Amazon employees .. In Tucson / Phx this has been going on for a while
And of course you still have the outside fleet owners/contractors pullings Amazon trailers
I have a buddy that does this , it doesn't pay well but it works for him and Amazon got him his CDLLast edited: Sep 19, 2020
