I dont recall the year or engine in that truck but generally I dont trust the temp gauges. If its a cat it has 2 temp sensors. One for ecm and one for dash gauge. Its relatively common for dash gauge to be inaccurate. I use a scangauge D to monitor what the ecm sees for engine coolant temp and intake air temp. I believe those are the only things that will trigger the fan other than the AC. Enjoy the ride. Some day I want a w900

Could also be a faulty intake air temp sensor with that engine. I had similar issues with the 09 I drove.

So earlier today opened the hood to check that fan clutch issue I was having. So I touched the wires on top for the ac compressor, the fan suddenly turn on and stayed on, turned off the truck hoping it will turn off that didn’t work, turned the key to the on position only noticed on the dash the fan light is on, anyways I just shut my truck off and went to sleep. Once I woke up I turned the truck on at idle the fan will kick on and off, once I started driving the fan stayed on, got to highway speed it started kick on and then kick off for like 5 seconds then kick back on again. Then after 20 miles it kicked off on for like 30 miles but whenever there is a uphill or if I throttle it hard the fan kicks on, so right now the fan is off but whenever a uphill or whenever the truck has to throttle it’s self hard to stay at cruise speed the fan kicks on then turns off after that. Yeah I know kinda confusing and weird. Remember ac is off the whole time, temperature is at 180. Does anyone experienced this before and where should I look

Seem like you found the problem try unplugging the a/c compressor. Also start cleaning ground wires from block to frame and frame to battery. check wires to fan solenoid if mine would replace the the fan solenoid to start with.

Clean all the connections but probably one of the pressure switches thinking the ac is on,

you will have problems with those rear fenders, I have half’s on pretty much the same truck and the paint on the top of them is a little banged up from my fridge hitting them at angles
