You can’t cook metal at those temps without inevitable failure. After 600k miles, it’s done. Why do you think the market is flooded with used emissions trucks? All of them just about/or just out of warranty

Ppl scream murder at the cost of rebuilding a pre emissions cat motor, to me it’s common sense.

It's a lousy stupid metal box with a couple of filters, what the heck happens to them? It has to be a design flaw for it to be so common. If you're a gambling man they are much cheaper used on Ebay. It might buy you some time to save up some money. I would permanently "fix" it if I were you. maxresdefault.jpg

The other thing I've noticed is the newer ones don't last as long. 600K maybe.

The earlier ones were going to 800K.

I hope to get the repair cost approved by landstar, if not i will have to weigh my options, either get what they're offering at this time and request a payment plan with the dealer if possible or just walk away and let the truck be repossessed. Thank you, I appreciate all your help.

I would suggest to not let this one bump in the road make you throw in the towel. Don't let this truck ruin your good name especially if you plan on staying in this business. Sure, someone will finance a truck for you, but at 18-25% interest at which you're still chasing your tail with another used truck that will have it's own set of issues too.

have you talked to the company financing the truck. it hurts them to if it gets repossessed. that would have been my first call

And also most fleets also sell there trucks at the 450,000 - 500,00 mile mark.
