2015 Prostar electrical, Bendix front radar or yaw sensor?

A ghost that no shop has been able to pin point problem or fix. HeavyD here are some data issues that are being pulled from ACom pro plus. I purchased the program so I would know the issue/codes. Bendix wingman was replaced in May 2020, but didn’t replace the plug or wiring. I can’t get the yaw/las to calibrate properly. Turn truck on and all lights work, but when hooked to ACom it shows that the ABS, TC and HSA are turned off.

Congratulations, and welcome to my world. You have a datalink communication issue, one of the hardest wiring problems to diagnose and repair. Check the connectors at the YAW and front radar for any green corrosion inside, loose or damage pins.

I checked the yaw connector to the box, cleaned and used dialectical grease. I’m going to guess the line runs up the left side of frame. I believe the problem is with the radar. I looked for your old post on where that runs to from radar but couldn’t find it. If it is the radar or yaws J1939 link or any other wire can I just replace that area or will I need all new wire? I printed all info from diesel laptop and gave it to International. Will meet with Tech tomorrow morning. Trying for fresh eyes and thoughts. Forgot to mention that when it rains I lose all handling of truck. Feels like 80,000 lbs on black ice at 75mph. Thanks HeavyD

Like HeavyD said, check connector at radar unit up front. Also follow harness from radar plug along the frame rail. I have found some bad spots.

Ok, the yaw sensor is on a private data link only between the ECU and steering angle sensor. The front radar is on the public datalink with the engine and everything else. So the yaw datalink is not connected to the radar datalink. At your ABS ECU connector #4, these pins and wires match up to your connector at the Yaw sensor

ABS pin 7 (CAN low) is wire A94SDA grey goes to YAW pin 4 wire N94SDB grey
ABS pin 8 (CAN high) is wire A94SBA grey goes to YAW pin 3 wire N94SBB grey
ABS pin 10 (ground) is wire A94SCA grey goes to YAW pin 2 wire N94SCB grey
ABS pin 11 (power) is wire A94SAA grey goes to YAW pin 1 wire N94SAB grey

Unplug each end and check for continuity, watch your meter and wiggle the harness along the left frame. It goes into the cab at the bottom big rectangular connector at the firewall.

The radar on front will have 4 wires at the connector. Green and yellow are your datalink wires. You can check for continuity with these right to your diagnostic port in the cab, yellow to yellow and green to green to green. At the radar the pink should be 12 volts with the key on, white is ground. Check all these.

I apologize that I’m just now giving verdict on us solving the issues. Checked the connectors , wire ends and 9 pin. The radar and yaws checked out good. However 9 pin and some of the wiring to radar and yaws was showing low/high on J1939. We were going to just put new wiring in. But called the former “mega company “ and asked them what were all these small disc’s under dash area and near left kick panel that had “zonar “ stamped on them. They replied “bread crumbs “ of everywhere they put wire or cable for their elog, both cameras and gps system. We decided to pull dash apart to look. There was over 12’ feet of wire and cable just laying in there. Started pulling it out and found a ground wire just laying in there, not connected and a lot of the J1939 green and yellow cut, exposed and not connected. Repaired all of that and cleaned all old wire/cable out. Recalibrated radar and yaws. All voltage is correct now. Thanks for everything. I really do appreciate you helping myself and everyone else. Very unselfish.

That's a great find! It's one thing to try to troubleshoot factory wiring, but then 3rd party stuff is a whole new ballgame! Glad you got it figured!
