hello all, new events have unfolded that I beleive you'll get a kick out of.
So I have been out of work since mid may and looking for local work. I came across an ad for a contractor to move fedex pups. The milage rate was good and I gave it a shot.
Here's the rub. So far most questions I've had about additional pay such as detention, break down, and trailer swapping/doubles separation pay, have been answered with "We are still figuring out those numbers."
At this time I am one of the first 5 drivers for this new venture for this company. I am VERY easy going but I definitely feel like this should have been figured out before the ad was posted.
Last update was my truck should be ready in two days and they want to be sure my truck is done before getting into the fine details of accessory pay. Wasnt thrilled with that response.
That being said with just the milage rate ill be doing pretty well compared to my last company but accessory pay would definitely sweeten the deal.
At this point I've been in talks with the owner for about a month and they only started having trucks the last few days. So this is very new.
Am i being too easy going?

Good luck. Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me.

The devil is in the details.

Sounds too good to be true

Until they give you answers on the accessorial pay, I would hold off on starting. These are answers that they should have already had before they offer someone a job.

You think this is this guys 1st go around? They are banking on either you take the job because you need it and worry about the accessorial pay later or you dont take the job and they'll just put someone dumber in the driver seat who doesn't care about the other stuff.

Wouldn't say it's my first go around haha. I have a pretty decent savings and minimal bills. What little info was in the ad seemed appealing so gave it a shot. I should have my answers by Wednesday afternoon ill keep you guys updated. They've had to shell out quite a bit of cash to get me to this point so they should figure it all out pretty quick.

Hillybilly was talking about the employer, not you. He's a crook. First thing it says to me is I don't really care about you. Just me.

Not your 1st go around. The company owner.

Oh from what I've heard first venture in the U.S. has had a fedex contractor company in Canada for 35 years and stuff in Asia for quite a while.
