@AModelCat did you know that hardcore gyms are going the way of the dinosaur?

I went to a gym today. Some girl walks up and sits behind the receptionist desk.

Do you have free weights?
"Yes, we do."
How much is a membership?
"$35 per week."
What are the hours that the gym is opened?
"Classes start at 6am."
I don't want a class. What time do they open and close the place for people who do not want classes of any sort?
"8am to 6pm."
So, if you take a class, you can get in earlier...why is that?
"Well some people are really busy and so they wanted classes earlier in the day."

Went by Planet Fitness. It was chocked full of machines and was as quiet as a library. Chocked full of (I hate to say this, because until now, I did not believe in all of that alpha male BS) BETA MALES, herbivore males, incels, snowflakes and frumpy women. Membership was $10 a month. And yes, they are proud of the lunk alarm. Repugnant.

I guess the old hardcore dungeon type places are a thing of the past. A quiet gym? That's like not being allowed to make a sound while sitting on a toilet with a full on mudslide.

About as sissified as a gym can be.

 

There's no old school, hardcore gyms near me so I go to one of the bigger gym chains across town. They're open 24/7. There's actually a fair amount of hardcore recreational lifters like myself there in the evenings. Its not a huge gym but they have squat racks, deadlift platform, a freeweight area and some cable machines. Usually the less hardcore folks tend to migrate away from the freeweight area once a few of us show up and stack 3 plates on the bar. Its kind of comical actually.

 

I discovered a new sport that you may be interested in.

 

Can't get more fruity than that.
