Quebec follows the french court system of statues instead of the way the US and most of Canada does it, which is the case law system? I.E. one cannot use the precedent set by another case to make your current case. At least I'm fairly sure I've read that somewhere.
Which means if so you really can't point to that case for any other cases. Although I will have to admit it will be very hard to win a similar case. After all, someone else has done the bulk of the research on which laws should apply.

Then there is always the case I'm 100% wrong, which wouldn't surprise me as I'm not too read up on the various Canadian law systems.

"It's in the Canadian Criminal Code, eh. Like there's legal precedence set in cases in law, eh?"

You're mostly correct; for non-criminal law, Quebec's legal system is based on the French Code Napoléon (Napoleonic Code). The rest of Canada uses the English system of common law, similar to the US. And true, while legal decisions in Quebec will be firstly based on the civil code, they will refer to previous decisions to see if they're consistent.

As for criminal law, we have one federal Criminal Code that applies throughout Canada.

Yep. As far as they are concerned, what they do in the states is just as good for Canada. Lol.

Because they are illegal. No company wants to take this on. Get fired for it, you will get a sweet settlement. Mine backed right off once I mentioned the federal act to them.

My company has driver facing cameras. They say it only records 10 seconds before and after an event which is total BS. Went into the office one day and the safety lady was checking all the drivers cams to see if they were covered.

Covering it is against company policy, however mounting my GPS right in front of the lens is not. So whenever they turn mine on all they see is a GPS mount.

During high traffic situations I'll unmount it, so I can cover my ### incase something happens. I don't really mind it too much to be honest.

Haha I always wanted to be famous.

I couldn't find anything regarding the WEL camera lawsuit. Is there something specific?

Either way I'm only driving until the end of November and vacationing all winter, only 2 more months of driver cam for me :)
