Buffets are already back in lots of places.

Golden Corral and others are open. 3 here on the sandbar have been open since they were allowed to reopen to dine in folks...which was around memorial day. The Golden Corrals I've seen open are all in Va.

I like a good buffet. To bad I find very few of them.

It seems like it would run for ever. For whatever reasons I like whatching these videos. It's strange. Cold diesel start ups, I like those too

A/c shows no signs of leaking, yet won’t hold a vacuum. It’s got to be bad gauges. I give up, 30 lb vacuum leaks down in 20 seconds Yet system held a slight charge all night. Gonna charge it up, and forget about it.Took oil cooler and lines off, what a mess under there. New lines tomorrow, along with a few others. Old Trucks are great!!! Blah blah blah!! There a pita.

    Yup.

That or my sandbar moved to the mainland and nobody told me. ;)

I call the Outer Banks home. I enjoy it very much. Especially after my trip this past weekend to visit family in PA. Seeing the traffic doing a impression of a parking lot on 81 northbound reminded me why I moved where I did and why I rarely leave.

Ever pass through my part of eastern NC and need a break...holler. I know of secret places big enough for a big rig or two. An lots of good places for food.

That applies to the rest of the class also.

When you pull a vacuum on the system, it will draw any moisture out. It could be “boiling” any that may be in the system. That will show as not holding a vacuum. How long did you run the vacuum pump on the system?

Uhhhh. Let me help you with your quandry. What tank are you supplying?

Because these are being shipped as a compressor. It is a stand alone long block. You the owner get to figure out what you want to do for a tank or radiator. Looking at startup vids I have seen three different themes for cooling. 1) the most common is aa automotive radiator with some form of sensor that tells the electric fans to cool at 180F. 2) a variation of the automotive radiator is a more tiny radiator that is about 1 foot square with a direct drive fan belt. 3) A en masse type cooling that is usually a 55 gallon drum that is sealed with a smaller tank that acts as vent and reservoir. I even saw where some one connected the engine to a cast iron radiator for home heating as a way to get rid of the heat. The bulk of these systems use thermal syphon to move the cooling.

The fuel tank? Again, customer supplied. The common type is a 55 gallon oil barrel. Usually gravity feed. There is a complete unit for sale on craigslist in Montana that adverttises of running for weeks on 46 gallons (bull s). 46 gallons by estimation would be a week at 24 hours per day.

Usually pull a vacuum for an hour,
Then watch it for 30 minutes, making sure there’s no leaks. This time, I had ran it only 5-10 and 15 min. to check for leaks. But today I ran it over an hour, and it still drained down. I realize the vacuum causes the moisture to boil out of the system. I’ve checked all connections, hoses, everything, except the evaporator itself in the bunk. I will check it tomorrow, but I doubt it’s leaking, because such a big leak would show dye well. I’m thinking it’s in the gauges, or the high side valve core, since I had a hard time seating it, after drilling the old one out. Maybe it’s in too far now, affecting the quick connector on the guage set, I don’t know. Just going to pull a vacuum and fill it, right away, since all was well before the valve core was leaking. I hear it could be the compressor seal, leaking more so only one way. I’ve been doing my Own for 22 yrs. Learn something new about a/c every time. I appreciate the tip.
