Hello - I am seeking recommendations on truck-friendly parking spots that have a nearby place to bass fish (open to other types too, but I love bass fishing). These suggestions can be US nationwide...

P.S. I saw one at a rest area off IL-57 South at Rend Lake.

    Thanks!

    Snailexpress and truckdriver31 Thank this.

Can not give you any recommendations but I do know that the more accessible areas (usually publicly owned) are going to require a fishing license for that state. Can get kind of expensive after a while.

Right off of I 70 in Nebraska there a lot of public fishing lakes all up and down the highway. I know there are a few areas you can park and walk a short distance. You can't miss them going along that route.

About every rest area in Minnesota has a lake behind it.

    Bring a belly boat.

There are a few lakes accessible from the rest areas on I69N, as you head into Michigan.

The Snake River off the I86 rest area near Massacre Rocks just West of American Falls, Idaho is pretty darn good for smallies...... Fishing license required.

Windigoostigwan Lake,,( NW Ontario) The shoreline a few hundred yards east of parking area is a small mouth bass honey hole. Not much parking but feasible for a truck driver....No camps on the lake. There are lake trout and walleye as well in this small lake. Pic,,I’m directly across from the parking lot/boat launch(See the clearing) The highway runs directly beside lake. 7449D334-2460-42C6-A3BB-EFA88DDD9247.jpeg

I was eyeing that very spot as I drove through there a couple days ago thinking to myself that it looked great for taking a 34 and wetting a line. I love catching them smallies.
