    Thanks @REO6205 & @Rontonio, I knew you guys would supply some wisdom

    I think trying to get in the heavy haul business from the top down is a hard path. Better to start with a 5 axle and grow the relationships, equipment and expertise over the years.

    Not that anybody has ever cared about my opinion on anything.

    It seems you guys are indirectly agreeing with my statement that it is pretty slim pickings, volume based, and not necessarily much profit. Much more of a necessary service needed/provided for a decent sized trucking outfit.

    Well, let's put it this way...the majority of trucking companies get by just fine without getting into heavy haul.

    Sounds good. It'll have to wait for fire season to be done...if it ever is. We've got people and equipment scattered all over. The guys are getting worn pretty thin.
