Dropped in Blair, I was originally picking up a load in Omaha going to Wisconsin, but weekend dispatch called me early this morning and said they needed a load going to Hartsville, Georgia covered. It has a 0500 appointment Monday morning. I let them know 0630/0700 is the best can do with my allotted hours.
On another note, I broke a tooth Friday, it hurts like a mofo, I think it has exposed nerves, so thankfully I’m headed home next week.

Sneaking to the house for a 34 before I deliver this Four Oaks load due Monday nite, then over to Kinston NC 8pm load to Wichita for Wed/Thurs. Last time this shipper was a CF, but not as bad as last Mondays 20 hr CF in Winston Salem.

Hey guys, just wanted to say I enjoy reading over this thread from time to time. Never would've known about FCC if it wasn't for this thread.
I'll have 2 years experience driving OTR dry van and reefer at the start of 2021. I have one violation, that being I was in the 3rd left hand lane when there was a restriction for trucks not to be in the far left lane. That was around April 2019, just 2 months after I got my own truck. According to FCC's website that would disqualify me because FCC lists it as a "serious" violation? But maybe not, I don't know?
In any case, a few questions for you guys as I'm thinking about changing companies in 2021 to make and save more money.
1. Does FCC have driver facing cameras?
2. How much could a company driver make per year, gross? Would anybody like to share their numbers or previous years numbers (like when you first joined FCC) if you're a company driver?
3. Do they offer per diem?
4. For those who joined FCC with only two years experience like I'll have soon, what did FCC start you out at? I think I read somewhere in this long thread that they'll start you out anywhere from $0.44 - $0.52 per mile, depending on experience, but I might be wrong?
5. Do they pay accessory pay for dropping, hooking or fueling?
6. I like to shower at Loves. I know you guys have to fuel at the stops that the company tells you to fuel at. Do you guys generally earn enough points every month at Loves to get to Platinum status so that you can get free unlimited showers? Or do you generally not fuel at enough at Loves to get to Platinum status? Or depends on the routes and lanes maybe?
7. Do they make you chain, or are they good with you shutting down if you don't feel safe in bad weather?
8. Do the trucks come with refrigerators and APU's? I have always had an APU and I really like them, they make life so much better OTR.
9. What's the home time policy, 6 days out 1 day off? Are they real strict on it? If you get home late in the morning, like at 1:00am does that day count as a day off for you or as a day working?
Sounds like a great company to work for. I live close to the Charlotte, North Carolina area so I think I would be within their hiring range since I think it was mentioned in this thread that they have a terminal in Greensboro, NC. I'm assuming they let you guys park your cars at the terminals while you go OTR, right?
If you guys are too busy to answer it's ok I understand. Again, great thread it's nice reading it from time to time!Silverdriver and Crusader66 Thank this. -
Only forward facing cameras.
They dont force chaining.
Trucks have apu fridge inverters.
Only terminals we have is fremont and council bluffs. I dont go to the carolinas so i dont know where the drop yards are.BeHereNow97, Silverdriver and Crusader66 Thank this. -
Hey BHN97, no terminal in NC. I live in northeastern NC. I park at the small Speedway truckstop in my town of Plymouth, a stopover town en rout to the Outer Banks. Been with FCC almost two years. My first I only grossed 48k with 11cpm per diem. 36 cpm was my base plus 4cpm for OTR since we no longer have a SE regional. Started here with 6 years prior experience. After one year and each year, you get a 1cpm raise on your anniversary of your start date. This year I should gross around 65k. Miles were definitely better. You could do better. I only stay out two to three weeks at a time. Take 3-4 days off at a time. Wife likes seeing me. I run hard, but not real hard. FCC gives you ample time to get your loads on time without having to break your neck. What I call TRUCKING DONE RIGHT.
This is a very driver friendly company. A truly great culture here at FCC. The folks in safety, the mechanics and dispatch are really great human beings. You are expected to be ontime and safe, but after that, it is relaxed here. It feels like a partnership here!
We mostly fuel at TA and Petros, occasionally at the others when their prices are lower. We also get quarterly bonuses tied to 1.Using their fuel solution, not going more than 8 percent over on out of route miles (one bonus of 1 cpm), 30,000 miles in a 90 day quarter (1cpm) avg 2500 miles/week, a safety bonus contingent on 30k miles plus no accidents/tickets HOS violations (1cpm), plus 100 percent ontime for pickups and deliveries. Anything beyond your control NOT counted against you (1cpm). You could earn 4-5k a year extra in bonuses.
The hospitalization plan here is reasonable. 87/week for self/spouse coverage (5k deductible).
They do pay for extra stops, dentention/layover, not for fueling or d/h though. I think detention is $18/ hour, layover $225/ day I think. As far as parking your rig, you take it home with you, just have to have a safe place to park it. Not sure about your lane violation. Wouldn't think that would disqualify you though. Talk to Jason or Scott in recruiting. Best of luck!

If you like Mexican food, in Crete just west of Nestle in the strip mall is a place called DeLeon's. It's really good and there's usually room to park a truck and trailer in the west end of the parking lot.
Crusader66 and tony97905 Thank this. -
It’s a great company... everyone is very professional... it runs very smooth at least from what we see. If there’s any chaos they keep it internal... lol
if you have your own truck, you can fuel anywhere so if you are a Loves guy fuel there if you want to pay the, I assume, higher prices. I’m OTR but they keep me SE mostly... I rarely see a Loves... which I do miss how they treat the drivers. Free coffee, free pop, free showers, play no games on their points program. {shrug}
I’d say talk to recruiting about the lane violation... be honest and up front about it. Never know.gntorres61, Crusader66 and BeHereNow97 Thank this. -
Well I’m glad to have this week behind me... that was the most jacked up week I’ve had here... nothing on FCC... accident on the trip coming out from home time delayed first load... next load delayed a whole day (199 in detention) ... Crete being delayed... was uber tight but I bumped the dock with 7 minutes left... lol ... first time having to get up at 2am to finish a run here.
Here’s to a new week... woot woot!!!
And the end of my first quarter here!!!gntorres61, Vic Firth, runningman0661 and 3 others Thank this.
