Be careful flatbedders

That is flat out terrible. I think about #### like that all the time and remind myself to be careful and take extra precautions.

On a related note, this happened in Houston around 2:30am. Just more to think about and be aware of.

His name didn't help him this time. This has been going for generations, someone always knew someone that got severely hurt or killed on the farm. It was part of the business. Dangerous large equipment operated by less than qualified people. It's an industry that is riddled with safety hazards, that go unresolved. I worked on several farms, and was appalled by the lack of safety concerns, and vowed never to work on a farm again. Got to be especially tough, a family member.

 

Sad story, just another example of how elogs should be eliminated, always rushing cuz the clock is working against us.

I agree on how elogs can be intimidating, but never a reason to compromise safety. Besides, I doubt this driver was on elogs, just moving a machine not far.

 

Yeah because the HoS magically changed once the method of recording your hours went electronic......

 

One minute over on a elog you have a violation, 1 min over on paper it never happened nor should it. Its one minute, not a big deal.

 

I ran elogs for over 2 years. Never once ran out of hours. I never felt pressure to race or rush to beat a clock either.
