I was pulled into the scale house for "Driver, radar detectors are illegal and there's one on your dash."
It was my sunglasses case, so they let me go.
Maybe the officer saw you with your glasses case.

Does Transport America have inward/driver facing cameras?

 

If you had it in your hand you were in violation.

You can be fired just for that depending on your company.

 

From what I have heard about Transport America lately it might be a blessing in disguise. Explain to them your story and U might get a break. You don't have to be texting you can just be looking at your phone and that is enough. Are there in cab cameras in your truck?. If you do get fired you should still be able to find another trucking job, it might just set u back a bit in the trucking world as far as pay goes.

someone asked. Did you have your phone in your hand? Naughty naughty. Cant be doing that. If you are to tempted, you may want to put it in the bunk or somewhere out of reach. Many of us drove for years before cell phones. You can at least do without it for a few hours. Withdrawal will be tough, but you can do it.

 

lol..try telli g them it wasnt a cell it was an ipod or your gps fell off the dash..Or your glasses case was in hand cause your were changeing glasses and were scratching your face with case in hand..
If you were texting or useing a ext speaker but just holding the phone then say so..Next purchase is head set..

 

Get a holder on the dash so its never in ur hand
